I found it suspicious, so I changed the visuals of a part of the map and I playtested the game. At first, I thought my damage formulas were all wrong, so I changed them radically and still nothing. Last major problem, that only happened 2 days before the end of the trial, was that the enemies' attacks never worked. I wasted many days trying to figure out how they work, but now I find it ridiculously simple. I had tried to learn via SRDude's videos, but I just didn't understand. Second major problem was that many events I wanted to do were EXTREMELY hard to do without conditionnal branches. I made backups in the Documents section and in the OSDisk section and I never encountered that problem after. What I learned is that you must make backups. After searching on Google for hours, I ended up giving up and I restarted the whole thing.
#Can i deploy a game in rpg maker mv trial version free
Next game, there'll be no battles lol.įirst major problem I had was that 5 days after the free trial, my file was lost! It was present on my desktop, I could still choose it when opening a project, but there was always an error message. The only negatives I can think of are classes/enemies statistics which I almost hated to do. I encountered many problems that made me want to give up, but I really wanted to make a more long-term project happen, probably to prove myself I still can do those.? I don't know, I just know in the end I got more positives than negatives out of this.
I watched a bunch of tutorials (Thank you SO MUCH SRDude, you're the best!) and had to do A LOT of trials and errors.
I already had experience with platformers before, so making a RPG with no knowledge on how it works was really hard, since they're pretty opposite game type. ABOUT THE PROCESS (This is especially for me if I have similar experiences in the future, but feel free to read if you want!).
